My name is Alysia Abrams, and I am a self-taught artist and illustrator. I draw by hand and also draw and illustrate digitally, using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Writing and illustrating my first children's book, Amy and the Little White Butterfly, was an experience that I will never forget. It was an emotional roller coaster that never seemed to end. When it was finally self-published, I felt a sense of overwhelming satisfaction. I finally wrote a children's book, and it was about someone very dear to me, my mom.
On the day of my mom's passing, I was outside next to my pond, and this little butterfly kept flying around me. It was white, just like in the book, and it landed on my face, just like in the book. I felt that it was my mom, telling me that everything was going to be ok and to not be sad. She had been sick for so long, so there was some sort of relief that she was no longer suffering.
My second children's book has been written for a few years, and I am currently finishing up the illustrations. I plan on publishing this book very soon.
I hope you enjoy the book. Happy reading!
